Three Newport News Shipbuilding employees were selected for the Security Star Award for outstanding security performance and engagement. The competition was keen, but Jimmie L. Bean (X23), Thomas R. Hardesty (E83) and Nelson C. Abuel (E83) rose head and shoulders above the competition in the merits of their security contributions and excellence.

The honor recognizes those who have demonstrated a strong commitment to help maintain the safety and security of the company, fellow employees and the nation’s warfighters. John I. Clark Jr., director of Security and Emergency Services, presented the awards and thanked the recipients for their dedication to security excellence and for a job well done.
