Newport News Shipbuilding has joined forces with the American Cancer Society, sponsoring the annual Relay For Life on Saturday, May 6. Each year, individuals, teams and families gather to share, reflect and reminisce about those who have been affected by cancer. Sponsors will host booths with games, giveaways, memorabilia and food. Play a giant version of the popular game, Battleship, at the NNS booth.

Help NNS reach its goal of $25,000 by Battling to Cure Cancer. Here’s how to get involved:

• Go to www.relayforlife.org/NNS to donate, register, and create or join a team.
• Sign up to volunteer at the event.
• Purchase luminarias or T-shirts:

• Luminarias (add your own message) $10 for one bag or three for $25

• NNS Relay For Life T-shirts – $10 each (contact Jenn Cherry)

• Attend the event on Saturday, May 6, and bring your family and friends. A kid’s area and food trucks will be available.
• Bring a canned food item that will be used in the luminarias and then donated to the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.
