
First James River Bridge Closure Set to Begin this Friday

The James River Bridge will be fully closed from Jan. 12-16 and from Feb. 2-6 for necessary maintenance. Shipbuilders who commute via the bridge must plan accordingly and find alternate routes during these times.
The first closure will begin this week. The bridge will be closed to traffic starting at 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12. It will remain closed through the weekend and reopen after 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Traffic will be routed to the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Bridge Tunnel during this time. Other options for NNS commuters include Route 460 or the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.
