Engineering and Design held its ninth annual Design and Engineering Appreciation Week (DEAW) from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4, fostering employee engagement and team-building through a series of daily challenges.

The goal was to encourage creativity and a sense of friendly competition, and it brought together 24 five-person teams in eight locations. The event allowed them to showcase creativity, technical skills and a collaborative spirit in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) challenges. This year incorporated a virtual challenge to give more people the chance to participate.

The goal of Design and Engineering Appreciation Week was to encourage teamwork, creativity and a sense of friendly competition.

Taking the top spot this year was Team Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys representing E46 -SSNX Future Undersea Design & Advanced Undersea Warfare.

“DEAW is such a wonderful example of the collaboration, engagement and sportsmanship that drives the culture of the Engineering and Design division,” said Jonathan Guthrie, specialty engineering ED&I champion.
