Boost Career Development Through Learning After the Whistle

Registration is open for Learning After the Whistle, (L.A.W.), a professional development program open to all Newport News Shipbuilding employees who want to enroll in after-hours courses.

New course offerings this year include Building High Performance Teams, Emotional Intelligence 2.0, offered via WebEx, and Introduction to Project Management.

“The courses offered in L.A.W. are designed to meet the demands and needs of our workforce, and serve as pathways toward career development,” said Tawana Robinson (O44). “Oftentimes, leaders collaborate and partner with their direct reports to identify courses that may enhance their developmental needs.”

Most courses in the L.A.W program are two to two and a half hours long and some have multiple sessions.

Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Go to MyNNS and search for the L.A.W. program to find information on registration and courses.
