“Big Blue,” Newport News Shipbuilding’s iconic 1,050-metric ton crane in the North Yard, will soon be a bit brighter.

Work has already started to remove old paint. Over the next few weeks, crews will work to repaint the crane, including the “Newport News Shipbuilding” lettering and the NNS and Huntington Ingalls Industries logos.
