Newport News shipbuilders who have a legitimate business need to transport hard copies of sensitive information off-site can now submit their requests via an automated system that offers greater efficiency and security.

The new NN10040 SharePoint site focuses on Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information/Controlled Unclassified Information (NNPI/CUI). It allows for the filing of off-site transport requests without printing forms or manually routing them to the appropriate person.

With the new automated version, users can send requests directly to the appropriate supervisor who will receive a confirming email. Upon approval, the requestor will also receive a confirming email. When the documents are returned, the requestor can close the loop through the SharePoint form.

This new system also allows for tracking and auditing by O15 Security with minimal intrusion.

The form is now available for use. All users will be required to use it starting May 5, but are encouraged to start using it immediately. Users can access the form at on MyNNS. See the Security News Flash for more information.
