More than 80 shipbuilders attended an after-work presentation with Brandi Smith, vice president of Columbia-Class Submarine Construction, for a discussion sponsored by L.E.A.R.N., which partnered with FitNNS.

“This event was inspiring,” said attendee and door prize winner Kortney Bell (O59). “I appreciate L.E.A.R.N. for providing employee engagement and resources to shipbuilders.”

L.E.A.R.N. and FitNNS are employee resource groups (ERGs) at Newport News Shipbuilding. L.E.A.R.N. stands for learning, expanding, achieving, results and networking. Its mission is to broaden the knowledge of employees through exposure to a variety of divisional operations and information. FitNNS promotes physical, mental and financial fitness for shipbuilders.
