Action Required to Access MyHR and its New Features
Published September 4, 2024
HII is centralizing payroll for all of its divisions, including Newport News Shipbuilding, into a single, streamlined platform. This is part of an enterprise-wide modernization project and will allow employees to access pay stubs and W-2s online through MyHR, beginning this fall.
To access MyHR and its new features, all users will need to register with Okta, a service that allows you to easily sign into applications through a single login. In the future, the Okta homepage will display applications such as MyHR, NNS Gives and ObserveNNS in one location. Once the current blackout period ends, MyHR will be the first available app.
Required Actions:
- Begin registration once you receive the email from Okta ([email protected]). The email is approved, and it is appropriate to open the link.
- Shipbuilders are required to register their YubiKey with Okta using instructions that are available on MyNNS.
- You must use the Okta portal to access MyHR after Sept. 23. Additional information will be provided leading up to that date.
While several changes are on the horizon, the processes listed below will remain the same:
- Employee daily time entry.
- Entering time via time clocks.
- Time entry submission and approval deadlines.
- Payroll schedules.
- Your method of receiving payment from HII/NNS.
Look for more updates in the coming days and weeks. Additional guidance for employees who would like to access the Okta portal on mobile devices – including shipbuilders who do not have NNS email addresses – is forthcoming. Please reach out to the Service Desk if you experience issues with registration.
