MLK Day Celebration Seeks Volunteers
Published December 4, 2024
Volunteers are needed for Newport News Shipbuilding’s ninth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration on Jan. 17 with guest speaker Thomasina Wright, vice president of Fleet Support Programs.
Events will be held during all three shifts at Bldg. 601 (Old Apprentice School Gym) and are open to all employees by reservation only. NNS’ Diversity and Inclusion Office is hosting the event.
Volunteers are needed for all shifts. Tasks include packing and handing out food, ticket review at the door, directing employees into and out of the building, cleaning up, setting up tables, chairs and trash cans; and seating assistance.
Employee volunteers are also needed to host live stream events in conference rooms for the 11:30 a.m. event. These volunteers would be responsible for streaming the event. Conference rooms have been reserved at various locations across the shipyard.
Sign up for a time slot on MyNNS. Assignments will be discussed closer to the event. For more information, email [email protected] or call 757-380-7178.
